Why a Steam Press?

Why a Steam Press?

Firstly, although many people enjoy ironing and find it therapeutic, to many people it is a just another household chore that has to be done and fitted into all the other necessary routines. Both types would benefit from owning a Steam Press for a variety of reasons, the main two factors being the increase in productivity and the final quality of the ironed garment. With the recent advent of Steam Presses being sold from $99 to $500, it is now within most household budgets to be able to invest in a Steam Press and get professional results in most instances, also considering now the price increases in dry cleaning and ironing services it is, in fact, a very wise investment, even more so considering the fact that a top of the range flat iron can cost upwards of $130.
In all fairness though, a reasonable quality Steam Press will set you back around $250, but you will find that your ironing time will not only be cut in half but the finished product will be much better due to the ability of being able to apply more pressure to the garment than a standard hand iron. this is certainly the case where bedding can be folded and ironed much better.
Like all new appliances you do have to practice a little to get the best out of them but you will find that it is fairly simple, after a little period of time, to get professional results. The main initial problem you will have to overcome is avoiding getting the backs of your knuckles burned as you flatten garments at the back of the press where the upper portion is hinged and can be very close to the lower plate – you only do it once or twice and quickly learn. They do take more time to bring up to operating temperature but like all things, a little planning overrides this.
Another important factor is actual working height of the press, you will probably find that the height of the average table is just a little too low to be comfortable if you have a lot of ironing to do – you will find that many purchasers of Steam Presses also purchase the manufacturers stand at the same time – and for good reason – the proper working height will stop aching backs, improve productivity and just make the whole process easier.
The majority of people who own Steam Presses say that they would never go back to a regular iron although most admit that it does take some time to master the principles of using one.
They are a very popular item at the moment as people try to use some form of automation to speed up the household chores and there are many different types of presses available from small mini presses to almost commercial constant roller types but if you need further convincing you will find that almost all commercial cleaners/garment cleaning/ironing services use Steam Presses!
